Lets turn packaged mango juice to a fizzy Probiotic

We have used Maaza in the past to make some delicious mango wine. But to make this fizzy delight, we turned to one of the best mango juices available in the Indian market, the mango juice by Raw Pressery. According to its ingredient list, this juice contains 51% Alphonso Mango Pulp. Maybe thats the reason the juice by itself is pretty thick. Because of this, we added some water to dilute the juice a little bit. This will ensure that the yeast from the Probiotic Brew Bag can start eating the sugars from the juice to multiply and make millions of tiny tiny carbon dioxide bubbles.

This recipe works with any packaged mango juice that you like. If mangoes are in season or easily available to you swap out the packaged juice with fresh mango juice for a truly natural probiotic. The choice is all yours. Just make sure to dilute the juice with a bit of water in case the juice you are using is too thick and you are good to go.

Making the Mango Probiotic

What you need?

  1. Fresh or packaged mango juice of your choice. (here is an affiliated link to the Raw Pressery Mango Juice that we used)

  2. Water

  3. One Probiotic Brewing Bag by MyOwnBrews

  4. 1 litre jar (preferably a glass jar)

  5. Cloth to cover the jar

  6. Funnel

  7. Few bottles to bottle the final drink (glass bottles which can be used for carbonated drinks work the best)

Our Probiotic Starter Kit has everything you need. Other than the mango juice and the water of course 🙂

How to make it?

Preparation and Fermentation
  1. We used 750ml of mango juice and 250ml of water to the jar

  2. Next open and add one Probiotic Brew Bag to the jar.

  3. Cover the jar with its lid and give it a good shake.

  4. Now remove the lid and cover the jar with the cloth cover.

  5. Keep it in a cool place away from direct sunlight for 4 to 8 hours.

Bottling & Carbonation
  1. After 4 hours, the yeast should be active. Now you can remove the cloth cover and cover the jar with the lid.

  2. Give everything a good shake.

  3. Open the lid and pour the probiotic from the jar into the bottles using a funnel.

  4. Again, keep the bottles in a cool place away from direct sunlight for 1 day.

Chill and Enjoy
  1. After a day, move the probiotics to your fridge. Drink them anytime you feel like having a refreshing drink.

  2. Keep them refrigerated and they are good for upto a week. But we doubt they will remain that long in your fridge after you taste the first one.

Our Verdict

This mango probiotic drink is not only a delicious beverage but also a great way to improve your overall wellness. Incorporate it into your summer routine and enjoy its numerous health benefits!
