Why should I buy the My Own Brews Baggie? Its just yeast right? No, the My Own Brews Bag isn’t only yeast. It’s actually a carefully-engineered blend of six ingredients. Basically, we shrunk a full scale winery into a tiny packet. We care about transparency, so here's what's inside: 1. High tolerance wine yeast 2. Blend of micronutrients 3. Potassium bicarbonate (to cut down on acidity) 4. Bentonite (a volcanic clay that adds clarity to your wine) 5. Pectinase (a naturall enzyme present in fruits to help clear your wines) 6. Alpha Amylase (an enzyme used to break down starch to sugars)
-
Does MOB work with juices containing preservatives or pasteurised juice?Yes! The My Own Brews formula will work with all store-bought juice, and other sweet drinks as well!
-
How sweet will it be?It's completely up to YOU! We build an awesome MOB Designer that can be used to design wines, meads or hard ciders based on your preferences. Check it out here.
-
Is it Vegan or Vegetarian?MOB Baggies are 420% Vegan and Vegetarian. They are made without any animal products. Almost all wines that you'll find in the store go through an unnecessary clarifying step where gelatine (from pigs) or shellfish products are used to make the wine more clear. Fortunately, you can instead clarify the wine you make at home with a mechanical step called racking which is how we do it!
